Youth Membership
- Youth Membership in Troop 404 is open to all boys who:
- Are at least 11 years old, but not more than 17 years old, or
- Have completed the fifth grade or
- Have received the Arrow of Light award as a Webelos Scout.
- When applying for membership to the Troop, a parent or guardian must accompany the boy to their first Troop meeting. A BSA application form must be completed when joining as a new Scout or transferring into the Troop from another BSA unit. All applicable forms (BSA Health and Medical form, Media Release form and Behavior Agreement/Permission form) must be completed and submitted to the Scoutmaster before the Scout can participate in any activities (see Attachments).
- Each Scout must have a current BSA medical form on file with the Scoutmaster. A physical examination with a doctor’s signature is required. The BSA medical form is valid for 12 months from the date of the examination. If your son has a medical check-up scheduled, ask for a BSA medical form so that your healthcare provider can complete the form at the same time. A copy of this form is taken on all campouts and trips.

- The BSA Outdoor Code
- Troop uniform policy
- Parent(s) must complete a Resource Survey Sheet (see Attachments).
Adult Membership
- Adult membership in Troop 404 is open to:
- All parents of youth members who support the BSA program.
- Members of the charter organization.
- Other persons interested in serving the youth of Troop 404.
- Adult members must be at least 18 years of age with the exception of the Scoutmaster who must be at least 21 years old.
- Registered adults may participate as either Committee members or uniformed leaders (Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmasters). Adult leaders in Troop 404 must be trained; you will have 90 days to complete the required training for your position. Troop committee training can be completed on-line.
- Troop 404 is dependent upon the parents of Scouts to fill numerous leadership positions. At least one parent of each Scout is expected to serve in a leadership position during the program year.
- Applicants must complete the BSA Adult leader application.
